BEAST Interface Reinforcement – innovative reinforcement for durable carbon components!

The tolerances of clamping areas in the bike industry, which are sometimes interpreted individually, as well as new clamping principles can lead to compatibility problems. Thanks to BEAST products with IR technology, you no longer need to worry about clamping areas of carbon components with different tolerances and unfavourable clamping principles of seat posts and stems.

The integration of a pressure-absorbing protective layer during the manufacturing process for our handlebars in the area of stem clamping as well as for our seat posts in the area of seat tube clamping have the goal of raising the durability, safety and user-friendliness of bicycle components to a new level.

Our clamping areas are reinforced with an extremely fracture-resistant layer of thermoplastic high-tech fibres and thus withstand higher point loads. It also grants significantly improved tolerance compensation for different diameters. This ensures that safety-relevant components are permanently and securely fixed even under the toughest conditions. We are thus setting new standards in terms of durability, safety and user-friendliness.

The IR technology was developed and tested entirely in-house. It is now used in all handlebars and seatposts with the corresponding identification. Like all BEAST products, the new products with IR technology are 100% handmade in Dresden.

Hot off the press – the BEAST Hybrid Bar. Our interpretation of a perfect handlebar for those who want to cover long distances and do not want to compromise on comfort and safety. The really new feature, however, is that the Hybrid Bar can be driven with MTB brakes and shifting armatures and that has never been a carbon drop bar.

In addition, and as known from Beast, the uniquely designed corner area in combination with the ergonomically flat designed tops, provides the ultimate in added comfort. The design was chosen to absorb influences from the trail, dampen and thus minimize fatigue of the upper body. Nevertheless, it has sufficient stiffness to get direct feedback from the terrain. For us, the ultimate hybrid between MTB and gravel handlebars.

We are often asked whether there will be other color combinations besides blue and red in the future. Unfortunately, for capacity reasons, we can not permanently add new colors to our product range.

However, we have decided to produce a limited edition of a certain color for you every year. This year we start with the color purple, because this color was requested most often.

You want to get our Limited Purple Edition? No problem, this is how it works:

Send us your binding order about the desired purple components by email to info@beast-components.de until 31.01.2022. Except for the Gravel and MTB rims and wheels, each component can be ordered in the limited color. Afterwards you will receive an order confirmation from us. The amount must be transferred in advance. From February we will go into production with the purple pieces. The delivery is expected to take place in April.

Those who do not wish to order directly from us are welcome to contact a trusted dealer. We are happy to accept orders from any specialist dealers.

A subject we contemplated for a while

For a long time, the new clamp designs of the new generation of brakes are a thorn in our side. The clamps are not round and the contact surface is minimal. Loads are thus no longer distributed evenly over the clamping area of the handlebars, instead they lead in locally. This squeezing principle of the new brake clamps is pure poison for any carbon structure. You don‘t have to be an engineer to understand that loads acting like this on the handlebars can not be distributed in an appropriate way.

We started looking for a solution and found one. The result and more information you can find here. Now you have the free choice of the desired brake and can mount it with twice the tightening torque than it was previously possible.

We no longer need to look at the sender when a message appears on the Iphone with drone shots from an orca in the icy sea because we can already conclude – Tobi is on the road again and trying to make us jealous.

Tobias Woggon has been one of Germany’s most enthusiastic bike adventurers for many years. He has traveled to countries who, many of us, couldn’t even locate on a map. In doing so, he has had many adventures, discovered local traditions and gotten to know the locals. He himself says: “While traveling around the world we have experienced stories to last a lifetime.”

There is nothing to add, because when Tobi visits us in Dresden, he has anecdotes and stories from his many travels which are always exciting, often amusing and sometimes a little bizarre. The result is wanderlust! So much, that we feel a little travel ache.

Real adventures only happen when you go out and get dirty. For many of us it is hard to go out and experience adventures. Especially when it comes to far away destinations.

Fortunately Tobi likes to share his impressions. Normally he would have been touring around this year, but instead he has been working on a new book named – Tour du Nord!

Tour du Nord is an expedition through five Nordic regions and brings together mountain biking, nature and cooking with the best local ingredients.

Tobias shares exciting experiences with his bike through the remoteness of the Faroe Islands, the fantastic variety of Icelandic landscapes, the untouched mountain ranges of Greenland, Scotland’s rough nature, the Russian taiga in Kamchatka and the forests of the German Erzgebirge.

Gigantic pictures photographed by his best friend Philipp Ruopp bring the book to life, so that readers immediately feel the desire to get on a bike and escape everyday life.

Illustrated maps describe Tobi’s tours in detail and his passion for cooking is also a part of the book. Therefore, you will find many recipes inspired by the regional Nordic cuisine, because for Tobi the culinary side of a country is as much a part of a journey as the landscape or the people.

For a long time, we worked in secret. Our engineers had to work countless hours of overtime. We put a huge number of rims through a rigorous process: test, crash, develop, test again. We looked at our competitors very closely. We did a lot of test rides. We put our new favourites through their paces in Finale Ligure, on Madeira, in Sölden and in numerous bike parks. 

But it was worth it. The result is 8 new rims of unparalleled quality. We have everything from road bike rims to hybrid rims. We’ve also redeveloped our well-known RR40 and ED30 rims. Their new layup and modified rim geometry make it possible to get even more out of these products. Our rims are can tolerate up to 30% more impact than those of our competitors. We’re very proud of our new range, so let’s introduce you to each of them in turn:

RX40
The RX40 is in no way inferior to the RR40. It’s extremely light, super-stiff and of course just as aerodynamically optimized. The new hooked design gives you a free choice of tyres.

GR40
The GR40 is a gravel rim that can deal with road riding and was developed from the aerodynamically optimized RR40 and XC30. It is designed for ambitious, adventurous bikers who sometimes ride off-road.

GR25
The GR25 is a gravel rim that just won’t be told. It has been developed for bikers who love the freedom of riding on a wide range of terrain: from roads to scree slopes and simple trails. The wide hookless rim flange protects tyres from puncturing and takes you safely through the terrain. 

XC25
The ultra-light XC25 is a narrow rim that is looking for a challenge. You can turn up the intensity on all kinds of terrain, from asphalt to field trails, forest trails, gravel and even scree slopes. Their low moment of inertia gives you unrivalled acceleration. 

XC30
Despite its low weight, the XC30 still craves hard, aggressive XC riding. The geometry has been designed for wider tyres. This allows riding with reduced tyre pressure and you have the benefit of traction, grip and stability that you can feel. The low moment of inertia improves acceleration. You’ll really notice this on mountain climbs. 

TR30
The TR30 closes the gap between the XC30 and the ED30. This rim offers a stronger layup than the XC30 but it’s still slightly lighter than the ED30. It’s the right choice for passionate amateurs or professional cyclists.

DH30
The DH30 puts Beast Components’ entire know-how on show. It’s designed to do its job perfectly. This rim caused us to add additional weights to our impact test stand. That’s because the 4 mm wide rim flanges can take a lot. The special geometry and the adapted layup make this downhill rim a reliable companion on any trail. The test rider was none other than Oli Dorn. He was really impressed, and we managed to win him over.  

HY35
eMTB wheels have to withstand greater loads and more kilometres on sometimes tough surfaces. The HY35 rims are adapted to the extreme demands of eMTBs. The special rim geometry, load-optimized layup, reinforced nipple seat and specially adapted rim flange mean that there’s nothing standing between you and killing it on your eMTB. 

So, what’s next? Road bikers, beware! We’ve tasted blood and are now developing even lighter, more aerodynamic rims. We’re expanded our portfolio. And that’s a reason to celebrate.
